Bayern Munich will look to regain some consistency by securing a second successive win on Saturday evening when they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Julian Nagelsmann's side have hit a lull of late, recently losing to VfL Bochum and drawing to Red Bull Salzburg in quick succession, before looking more like themselves last time out as they thrashed Bundesliga basement boys Greuther Furth 4-1.

Sitting six points clear at the top of the table, Die Roten now face a Frankfurt side hopeful of climbing back into the race for European qualification. Just one league victory in six attempts (losing four in that time) has seen them slip six points behind Freiburg in sixth.

Here's 90min's preview of this one.

Frankfurt team news

Central midfielder Kristijan Jakic will be absent from Saturday's clash as an accumulation of too many yellow cards sees him ruled out, while Sebastian Rode is also out of contention in the middle of the park.

Diant Ramaj, Ragnar Ache and Gonçalo Paciencia are all ruled out for the hosts due to injury, while Daichi Kamada will also likely be sidelined as he continues to struggle with a knee problem.

The German will join Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Kingsley Coman and Leon Goretzka on the sidelines, while Corentin Tolisso and Lucas Hernandez are also struggling with knocks - meaning Nagelsmann will likely be without seven first-team players for this one.

Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich head-to-head record

Unsurprisingly, Bayern have historically come out on top in this fixture. Die Roten have been victorious in 63 of the two clubs' 118 encounters while Frankfurt have won 32 - there have been 23 draws.

However, though history may tell one story recent form would suggest a very different tale. Frankfurt are actually on a two-match winning streak against Die Rekordmeister, winning 2-1 in this season's reverse fixture as well as winning by the same scoreline at home last campaign.

Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich prediction

While Bayern invariably head into each fixture as favourites, it shouldn't come as a surprise to see them struggle on Saturday evening.

Frankfurt have had the beating of their visitors in recent campaigns and, with seven high-profile absentees, this will be anything but an easy task for Nagelsmann's side.

Even so, they remain stacked in quality and, while both teams are in shaky form, should be able to snatch a win.

Prediction: Frankfurt 1-2 Bayern Munich
