Two blank fixtures in the schedule has seen plenty of FPL managers activating their Free Hit chip this week.

Playing this chip should lead to a boost in rank, while hitting the right differential options can provide a further march up the rankings.

So who are the top differentials to select?

Goalkeeper - Sam Johnstone

Predicted Points: 4.2

Crystal Palace are a completely different team under Roy Hodgson, keeping their first clean sheet since the veteran's return last time out. Sam Johnstone has emerged as a popular option for those on a Free Hit, with the potential for a shut-out high against Everton who are struggling for goals.

Johnstone has made 11 saves in his last two games and in Hodgson’s tenure we’ve seen them concede just two big chances on their goal and 25 shots. The stars may align for a big haul for Johnstone and he comes in at a budget friendly price of £4.5m.

Defender - Andrew Robertson

Predicted Points: 5.8

Liverpool assets are hot property ahead of their home tie against Nottingham Forest as the form charts collide and Robertson is a key contender to be our third Reds player with two clean sheets in six. More than half of Liverpool’s clean sheets have come at Anfield this season and Nottingham Forest have failed to score in the last two games.

Robertson has six assists so far this season, which is modest by his standards, having hit double digits in three of his last four campaigns at Liverpool. He did have a big chance on goal and create a further big chance in the fixture against Arsenal two weeks ago.

Midfielder - Cody Gakpo

Predicted Points: 5.7

Another contender for our third Liverpool spot is Cody Gakpo, who has demonstrated in recent performances that he has huge potential to post a big FPL score this weekend. He has six attacking returns in six.

The biggest concern in selecting him is that Liverpool have a clean bill of health among all of their attackers, so a start for Gakpo and a 90 minute appearance is far from guaranteed.

Forward - Alexander Isak

Predicted Points: 5.1

Despite a blip last time out against Aston Villa, Newcastle are in a rich vein of form and have been particularly impressive on home turf this season. Striker Alexander Isak has started five of their last six games, scoring five goals in that time.

He’s demonstrated in recent games his ability to play alongside Callum Wilson and still remain involved in their goals. He also takes penalties when Wilson is off the pitch and opponents Spurs are without a clean sheet in six.
