A Double Gameweek for Manchester City brings plenty of demand for their players once again. It’s been a torrid week for the club though, with Premier League charges looming and a defeat to Spurs last weekend halting their title challenge.

A triple up on City players may not be essential, but there’s always a temptation to bolster our contingent of their players from the main man Erling Haaland. So who should you consider adding to your ranks?

3rd: Nathan Ake (£5.1m)

Targeting City defenders is problematic given the rotation that we’ve seen since the restart, but Nathan Ake has played the most minutes. He’s had one shot on goal and made three key passes since the restart.

City’s clean sheet potential has been lacking in recent games, but their underlying numbers remain solid, with only eight big chances conceded on their goal in their last seven games.

2nd: Kevin De Bruyne (£12.4m)

Another shock benching for De Bruyne against Spurs raises some concerns; it seems to be a running trend to find himself on the bench when City face opponents who play a wingback system. Could we see the same again against Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 24?

De Bruyne still carries plenty of attacking threat though, posting a league high four successful crosses during his substitute appearance against Spurs. An attacking triple up on City players is my favoured approach for this double.

1st: Riyad Mahrez (£7.7m)

Riyad Mahrez is the best route into a City attacking double up based on recent form. He’s started six of the last seven Premier League games for City, with only Haaland and Rodri seeing more minutes of their midfielders and attackers.

His form is solid too, with seven goal involvements since the restart, equalling Haaland’s output over the same period. He seems to be first choice for Pep Guardiola on the right wing.
