The introduction of Volta Football in FIFA 20 had the gaming world going wild - FIFA Street was finally back on our screens - and FIFA 21 will ensure that the new game mode is better than ever before.

Volta is all about using skills to embarrass players on pitches and in cages around the world, taking some of the realism away from actual football and giving players a chance to mess about and have fun with their friends.

One of the biggest pleas from fans was for FIFA 21 to give players a chance to play online, and that's exactly what the upcoming release will bring.

The all-new Volta Squads mode will allow players to head online with a group of friends in 5 vs 5 matches, which can be hosted privately or publicly. Even individual users can drop into public lobbies and play with players from around the globe.

Volta Squads will also feature it's own divisions which players can strive to climb through weekly events, with both successful on the pitch and user engagement contribution to some exclusive rewards.

Alongside Volta Squads, there will be another new game mode knows as Featured Battles, which is similar to Squad Battles in Ultimate Team in that players will take on A.I. controlled teams created by the community in search of prizes and rewards.

There will be regularly updated Boss Battles which will see players be able to challenge the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Zinedine Zidane on the Volta pitch, and those bosses can be added to your squad if you are successful against them.

In terms of game play, the focus is on creating a fun and fast environment for players, so mechanics and animations have been improved to make players feel more agile and give them better control in tight spaces.

All-new flair passes and shots have also been introduced to the game, while there are now plenty of new ways to nutmeg your opponents and leave them for dead.

Each character can be customised better than ever before, with a huge new collection of authentic street wear and designer labels available to be worn on the pitch, including gear tailored to some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Those characters can then be taken all around the world to updated and enhanced locations, including Sao Paolo, Milan, Sydney, Paris and Dubai.
