Federico Redondo's Inter Miami transfer is back on - report

Inter Miami's potential signing of midfielder Federico Redondo from Argentinos Juniors is back on, according to reports.

The Herons were said to have agreed a deal with the Argentinian club last week, but their $8m offer fell through with Miami needing to offload players before finalizing the signing due to MLS' roster rules and and regulations.

According to South American transfer expert Cesar Luis Merlo, Miami are back in negotiations with Juniors and have sent the club another offer in hopes of hashing out a deal. Merlo also points out that Miami have agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old.

Redondo, the son of former Real Madrid, AC Milan and Spain midfielder Fernando, has managed two goals and two assists in 58 appearances for Juniors after making his first-team debut in April 2021.

He recently represented the U23 Argentina national team at the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament, toppling Brazil 1-0 to advance to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

After Miami brought in player after player last summer and earlier this winter, they were bound to have to sell or trade several players to be roster compliant or sign any additional players. With Gregore off the team's books, Miami are one step closer to finalizing a potential transfer for Redondo -- but time is not on their side.

Should Miami complete the signing of Redondo, he'll join a talented midfield group with the likes of Sergio Busquets, David Ruiz, Julian Gressel, Benja Cremaschi, Diego Gomez and Jean Mota.
