FC Dallas host the Houston Dynamo on Saturday at 3pm (EST) in the first Texas derby of the 2022 MLS season.
Respective head coaches Nico Estevez and Paulo Nagamura are experiencing this rivalry for the first time and will be keen to make an impression for their clubs.
Hosts Dallas head into the match on a six-game unbeaten run across all competitions and currently sit third in the Western Conference after a strong start to the season. The Dynamo are just behind in fifth and will follow this match with another Texas rivalry clash against Austin FC next week.

Dallas have a fully fit roster available for the visit of their state rivals and should be well-rested after Estevez rotated in the cup against FC Tulsa. The likes of Alan Velasco and Jesus Ferreira will come back in up-front.

Dallas' last success in this fixture was a 3-0 home win back in October 2020.

After a miserable few years, both teams have made great starts to the 2022 campaign and appear to be genuine contenders for MLS Cup Playoff spots.
Dallas and Houston are level on 12 points with just one defeat and 10 goals scored each so far. The former has been slightly tighter at the back than the latter and that, coupled with home advantage, may just give Dallas the edge here. That said, it'll be mighty close.
