Well, this tournament has flown in, hasn't it???

It seems like Euro 2020 only started yesterday, with Italy sweeping Turkey aside on home turf to get the competition off to a flying start, but we're already at crunch time for the group stage.

The 2pm kick-offs are a relic of the past, with each group's final two matches taking place concurrently as teams fight it out to avoid elimination. And in most cases, it's still all to play for.

Here is your rundown of the state of play in each group, and who needs what to make the last 16.

Last updated: 23/06/21

Group A

All games completed.

Italy and Wales qualified for the last 16 in first and second, while Switzerland are guaranteed to be one of the four best third-placed sides.

Group B

All games completed.

Belgium qualified top with a maximum nine points, while Denmark fought back with a final day win over Russia to come second. Finland, as the third-placed team could yet progress, but their future depends on other results.

Group C

All games completed.

Netherlands topped Group C, with Austria in second. Third-place finishers Ukraine, like Finland, are waiting anxiously for other results.

Group D

All games completed.

England, who have yet to concede a goal, topped the group with seven points. Croatia's superior goals scored sees them take second place ahead of Czech Republic, who are definitely through as one of the best in third regardless. Scotland are out.

Group E

Remaining fixtures: Slovakia vs Spain, Sweden vs Poland

There is usually at least one shock elimination at the group stage of every major tournament, and Spain are at risk of being that team. They've drawn their first two matches, so need a win against Slovakia in the heat of Seville to progress - anything else and it will be lights out for Luis Enrique's team.

A point would make sure of second place for Slovakia, but defeat likely spells the end for them as they would be one of the weaker third-placed sides on just three points.

Sweden are on four points as it stands, so a win would be enough to win them the group. If they draw and Spain win, goal difference will determine the group winners. But even if Sweden lose to Poland, they are likely to progress. The Poles, meanwhile, need to win to overtake one of Spain or Slovakia.

Group F

Remaining fixtures: Germany vs Hungary, Portugal vs France

Well, who would want to predict this one? Any of the top three in Group F can finish anywhere between first and third, while Germany and Portugal could both still finish bottom of the section, depending on the Germans' clash with Hungary.

France currently top the group on four points, so a draw against Portugal would see them through either as winners or runners up. If Portugal win, they are guaranteed either first or second place, depending on how Germany get on against Hungary.

If Hungary can pick up a win against Joachim Low's team, they would overtake them - and can even finish as runners up if France do them a favour. For Germany, a win could see them take the group if France drop points, but they could equally finish bottom if they lose and things go against them.

Who will qualify as the best third-placed teams?

Czech Republic and Switzerland's four point tallies have guaranteed them safe passage to the knockouts, but the other two third-placed qualifiers are not yet known.

A point each for Portugal and Spain on Wednesday will see them through at the expense of Ukraine, who are anxiously awaiting the final results for a minor miracle.
