Manchester City defender Esme Morgan has been called up to the England squad for the international friendlies against France and Canada in the coming days.

Morgan will initially join the rest of the Lionesses squad at the training camp at St George’s Park and will then travel to France with the group for the game in Caen on 9 April.

England play the follow up friendly against Canada at the bet365 Stadium in Stoke, with Morgan available for selection for both games.

The 20-year-old is currently uncapped at senior international level but was called up by former manager Phil Neville for a training camp in September and has represented England previously at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels.

Morgan has continued to establish herself at Manchester City this season following a loan at Everton in 2019/20 that ultimately had to be cut short when the WSL was abandoned.
