Erik ten Hag has revealed that Manchester United will trigger the one-year extension clause in Marcus Rashford's contract.

The forward's deal is set to expire in the summer, and Paris Saint-Germain have already confirmed that they would make him a huge offer should he head into next season as a free agent.

Rashford has also been linked with various other clubs under the pretence that he will be out of contract come July, but speaking after United's mid-season friendly with Real Betis, Ten Hag revealed that this will not be the case.

The Dutchman was initially asked whether he would be able to stop Rashford being tempted by a move to PSG, to which he said: "I can't answer that question. He has to make a decision.

“What we can do is to show him that this is the best club to be in, and it has to do with the culture of the club, but also in the way we are working together.

“It has to do with the way we play, the way we train, are we offering the right environment to progress further on and it's also a financial issue as well.

"So, if we do that, if we can tell him about the ambitions and how we want to fulfil the ambitions, these talks we will have with him. Then it is up to him to make the decision. It's one-and-a-half years [left on his contract] and he will be here [for that time]."
