Erik ten Hag has held a press conference ahead of Manchester United's trip to Southampton for Saturday's Premier League lunchtime kick-off.

The Red Devils managed to bounce back from two ghastly defeats against Brighton and Brentford to open the season with a seismic victory over rivals Liverpool on Monday night.

Southampton too have managed to shake off their early season woes and now look revitalised ahead of United's visit.

Here's what Ten Hag said to the media on Friday afternoon.

Team selection & Casemiro debut

What's the latest team news?

"You will see tomorrow [changes]. I will tell the team first. Anthony Martial is not fit.

"Casemiro is fit, he did all the training sessions. He [Martial] came out with a problem with his Achilles. I cannot tell a prognosis, how long it takes. I hope he will be available for the next game."

Man Utd's spirit and philosophy

What's the spirit been like in the dressing room after beating Liverpool?

"The spirit was already good but now it is even better. But it's only one game so we have to build further, we have to develop and I think everyone is aware of that."

What have you made of the team's evolving style?

"We need to have a high standard. It's a demand to the group. Now they see what the reward is, so we have to match the runs in and out of possession. We need runs and movement if you want to dictate a game."

Transfers

What's the latest on the transfer front?

"We need players but we need the right players. The whole transfer window, we are happy with what we did until now, but the bar has to be high."

Will the likes of Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams leave?

"We are talking about players who are not available, I don't think they will go out in this window."

Southampton

What do you make of the trip to Southampton?

"It's a different challenge [to Liverpool]. Did we learn the lesson from Brentford? Because this will be more or less than same approach."
