Erik ten Hag laments Man Utd's lack of 'passion' in Newcastle defeat
Erik ten Hag has admitted Manchester United showed less 'passion, determination and desire' than Newcastle United during Sunday's clash.
The Red Devils suffered a damaging defeat at the hands of Newcastle on Sunday evening, losing 2-0 thanks to goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson at St. James' Park. The loss sees Ten Hag's team drop down to fourth in the Premier League table - just two one point ahead of manger-less Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking after the game to Sky Sports, Ten Hag lamented the lack of passion his team showed on the day: "I hated to see it, but they were better today, especially with their determination, their passion and desire. They wanted to win more than us."
The Man Utd manager also notably called out the attacking performance of the 'left side' of the Man Utd attack - seemingly singling out Marcus Rashford's tepid showing at St. James' Park for criticism:

"Our attacking game was not good enough. I don't want to be focused on one person because it has nothing to do with one person, it was about team performance. We didn't break them.
"I think in the first half we had a chance on the right side with Antony and Diogo [Dalot], but from over the left side came almost nothing. That is the conclusion after this game.
"It's normal. In a season you have setbacks and you have to deal with it. We've done it so many times. Recently after Liverpool we came back so I don't have that concern, I believe in my team and I believe they will bounce back."
