Erik ten Hag gave updates on Manchester United duo Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen after the 1-0 victory over Luton Town on Saturday.

Victor Lindelof's strike pushed the Red Devils up to sixth in the Premier League, ahead of Newcastle and three points behind fourth-placed Liverpool having played a game more. However, the win at Old Trafford may have come at a cost with more fitness issues cropping up.

United midfielder Eriksen had to be substituted in the 40th minute with a suspected knee problem before fellow Dane Hojlund was brought off in the second half with hamstring difficulty.

"In this moment, I can't tell anything about it because I don't know," Ten Hag said in his post-match comments regarding Hojlund. "We do an assessment and we have to wait 24 hours for the conclusion. So we'll give the medical team 24 hours to see what the problem is, if there is a problem.

"You don't want to miss any player. There's also Christian Eriksen. That is our season at this moment - we have so many injuries. But, therefore, you have a squad. We have talked about it many times. But, of course, the routine levels are dropping down, the routine levels in the team, in the way of playing. But, hopefully, players are coming back and those new injuries are not too bad."

Hojlund couldn't net his first Premier League goal for United on Saturday, stretching his run to nine appearances in the division without striking.

On Eriksen, he added: "He slipped but it's the same - we have to do the assessment, set the diagnosis, set the conclusion and then we'll know where we are."

Both Hojlund and Eriksen were included in Denmark's recently announced squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland in November. Kasper Hjulmand's side are on the verge of qualifying for next summer's tournament.
