Patrick Bamford is set to make his long awaited England debut on Sunday as the Three Lions take on Andorra at Wembley Stadium.

The Leeds United forward has been one of the best strikers in England over the last 12 months, bagging an impressive 17 league goals in Leeds' first season back in the Premier League, and can count himself extremely unlucky to have missed the cut for the Three Lions' Euro 2020 squad.

And now, according to the Daily Mail, Bamford is finally set to be rewarded for his fantastic club form with his maiden senior England cap.

Bamford is set to be drafted in to replace Harry Kane at Wembley, after the forward completed 90 minutes in England's comfortable 4-0 win over Hungary in Budapest.

The forward is one of the many squad players set to be rotated into the starting XI for this Sunday's match, with the likes of Jordan Henderson, Bukayo Saka and Conor Coady all set to play.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Gareth Southgate explained the reasoning behind the changes: "It is not so much sentiment but we have a really strong squad and at this stage of the season players are still getting up to full fitness."

"To be able to rotate and use the depth is very important. We have a group of players who deserve to play and any of them can go into the team and do a job as they have done when they have been in the past.

"Absolutely we will make a lot of changes, but what will be nice is that for those players who play on Sunday it will be the first game there since the Euros and they will get a fantastic reception I am sure. They deserve that hugely."

The game at Wembley will be England's first at their home stadium since their dramatic Euro 2020 final defeat at the hands of Italy.
