England 4-0 Iceland: Player Ratings as Phil Foden Bags Maiden England Brace

England capped off their Nations League campaign with a comprehensive - albeit expected - win over Iceland at Wembley on Wednesday evening.

With nothing left to play for, considering they were already out of the running to make the finals and Iceland were already confirmed as relegated to league B, this was a chance for Gareth Southgate's side to right the wrongs of the weekend defeat in Belgium - and they did just that.

England dominated possession from the off, and Declan Rice headed home his first England goal from a Phil Foden free-kick after 20 minutes. They upped the tempo after this, and smart passages of play down the left flank involving Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire eventually resulted in England adding a second through of the evening - courtesy of Mason Mount.

England saw the game out with comfort after Iceland went down to 10-men with 35 minutes to play and looked happy with a 2-0 lead, before Foden burst into life and bagged a brace in the final 10 minutes of play.

In a largely straightforward contest, here's how the Three Lions fared.

England

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Jordan Pickford (GK) - 5/10 - Dealt with a tricky cross early on in the game, but otherwise was left twiddling his thumbs. Easy day at the office.

Kyle Walker (CB) - 6/10 - Assured performance from the Manchester City defender. Was comfortable as ever on the ball and retained concentration despite having little to do.

Harry Maguire (CB) - 7/10 - Confident return to the side for the captain. Maguire was keen to bring the ball out and spent plenty of time near the opposition 18-yard box and ended the evening with 87% pass accuracy.

Eric Dier (CB) - 6/10 - Not a great deal to do but confident enough on the ball and covered well for Maguire whenever the skipper fancied a run up the field. Put in some solid tackles to nullify any potential Iceland attacks after the interval.

2. Midfielders & Wing Backs

Kieran Trippier (RWB) - 5/10 - With the bulk of England's attacks coming from the left channel, Trippier endured a rather quiet evening.

Declan Rice (CM) - 7/10 - Did what was asked of him in being the screen at the base of midfield throughout and headed home his first England goal to make it 1-0. Mature performance from the 21-year-old.

Phil Foden (CM) - 9/10 - A Rolls Royce performance from the 20-year-old. Assisted the opener and was patient throughout, before scoring an impressive brace in the final 10 minutes to put things to bed. Class.

Bukayo Saka (LWB) - 8/10 - Slow start but upped the tempo after the opener and was key to unlocking the Iceland defence from the left flank with some quick passing.

3. Forwards

Mason Mount (RW) - 7/10 - Active first half for the 21-year-old who linked up well with both Grealish and Saka to cause all sorts of problems in the opposition area. Good anticipation to grab England's second goal by capitalising on a poor clearance.

Harry Kane (CF) - 6/10 - Dropped deep well and imposed himself physically when needed.

Jack Grealish (LW) - 8/10 - Brilliant as ever, Grealish dropped deep and to begin attacking plays, and won the free kick that resulted in the opening goal. Should be one of the first names on the team sheet.
