Endrick netted his 11th goal of the season on Wednesday as Palmeiras secured the Brasileirao Serie A title, moving up into second on the list of teenage scorers in the country's top flight.

The 17-year-old, who will move to Real Madrid in a £52m deal in the summer of 2024, ended the season as a starter for Palmeiras, bagging six goals in the final eight games of the campaign.

Only the great Ronaldo Nazario managed more goals as a teenager in Brazil's top flight, scoring 12 times in 1993 when he was just 16 years old - R9 then joined PSV Eindhoven aged 17 in 1994.

Neymar used to hold the place behind Ronaldo in the rankings, having netted ten for Santos when he was 17, but Endrick has now climbed ahead after scoring his 11th.

"Congratulations, Endrick, on your second consecutive Brasileirao," Madrid wrote in a brief message. "His goal in the last game helped his team, Palmeiras, win a deserved title. We are very proud of you."

With the 2023 Brazilian season now over, Endrick is expected to head to Spain to spend time with his future employers Madrid.

Reports state Endrick will be in the Spanish capital for four days from 16 December and will watch the game against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu, before then heading back to Brazil.

Madrid's 2-0 win over Granada last time out keeps them top of the standings in La Liga and victory over Real Betis on Saturday will see them retain that spot for Endrick's visit.
