Midfielder Nicolas Haas is edging closer to his return from a meniscus injury which he sustained prior to the winter break.

However, boss Aurelio Andreazzoli will definitely be without Riccardo Marchizza after he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the 4-2 defeat to Roma last month.

Weston McKennie looks set for a spell on the sidelines after he limped off against Villarreal in midweek with a foot injury.

Leonardo Bonucci's return from the substitutes bench was more positive news for Allegri, although he will continue to be without Paulo Dybala, Federico Bernardeschi and Giorgio Chiellini. Federico Chiesa is a long-term absentee.

Empoli vs Juventus head-to-head record

Empoli ended their lengthy losing run against the Old Lady when they shocked Juventus with a 1-0 win at the Allianz Stadium back in August.

Leonardo Mancuso grabbed the all-important goal for Empoli, although they have been unable to trouble Juventus in recent meetings at the Castellani.

Cristiano Ronaldo netted a brace in Juve's last trip to Empoli, while the Old Lady ran out 3-0 winners away from home in October 2016.

Juventus are having to handle a few significant absentees, with Paulo Dybala's injury depriving Allegri of the fearsome attacking trio after Vlahovic's January arrival.

The Serbian looks in terrific form after opening his Champions League account in midweek, although Allegri's conservative approach to matches means he's often feeding off of scraps.

Victory would be a huge boost for Juventus in their quest for a top four finish, but it could be a frustrating evening for the travelling supporters.

Prediction: Empoli 1-1 Juventus
