The destiny of the Europa League trophy will be decided on Wednesday night when Rangers face off against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Rangers, previously runners-up in 2008, have continued to exceed expectations all year, seeing off Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig en route to what could end up being a famous victory for Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men.

However, the final hurdle comes in the form of a very good Frankfurt side who have enjoyed their own role as the underdogs. Real Betis, Barcelona and West Ham have all been brushed aside and the Bundesliga club are now just one win away from their first European title since 1980.

Here's all you need to know about this one.

Eintracht Frankfurt team news

Star centre-back Martin Hinteregger was surprisingly named in the travelling squad for this game following a hamstring injury in the previous round, but Frankfurt have since confirmed that the defender will not actually feature because of the problem.

Also on the plane are right-back Danny da Costa and young left-back Jesper Lindström, both of whom have returned to training following their own battles with injury.

Rangers team news

Van Bronckhorst has confirmed that striker Kemar Roofe returned to training on Monday and will be part of the traveling squad, which comes as a massive boost as fellow star forward Alfredo Morelos remains sidelined.

Alongside Morelos, Filip Helander is still out and those two will be joined on the sidelines by Ianis Hagi, who has teased a comeback but is not actually registered to play.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Rangers score prediction

Betting against either of these sides has proven risky business over the past few months. They thrive when expected to lose, but one of them has to be the favourite here.

For this one, expect Frankfurt to come out on top. The Germans are unbeaten away from home in the Europa League this season, victorious against Betis, Barcelona and West Ham, while Rangers have conversely looked shaky when playing away from Ibrox.

Frankfurt threw the towel in domestically months ago and have put all their eggs in the Europa League basket, and although Rangers won't roll over for them, the signs point to Oliver Glasner's men getting their hands on the trophy.

Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 Rangers
