Bayern Munich maintained their 100% winning record in this season's Champions League group stages, edging to a 2-1 victory over Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday evening.

In bitterly cold, snowy conditions the visitors coped well, keeping Dynamo at arm's length in the first half and sailing into a two-goal lead. A second-half strike for the hosts did cause some anxiety, but the injury-hit German champions managed to hold on.

After one early scare Bayern began to dominate proceedings and they got the breakthrough in the 15th minute, Lewandowski reacting smartly in the box before producing a picture-perfect overhead kick to open the scoring.

Throughout the opening period the visitors were on top and they eventually grabbed a second just before the break. Corentin Tolisso sprayed a sumptuous cross-field ball which was neatly dummied by Thomas Muller, allowing Kingsley Coman to finish clinically at the back post.

Bayern continued to cruise in the second half, with Julian Nagelsmann making what changes he could to preserve his troops for the challenges to come.

However, Dynamo set up a tense finish when Denys Garmash was played through and finished confidently to make it 2-1.

Despite a few more close shaves before full-time Bayern were able to hold on to secure their fifth win out of five games in Group E.

Here is how the players rated in Ukraine...

Bayern Munich player ratings

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Manuel Neuer (GK) - 5/10 - Read a few dangerous balls in behind excellently. Spilled one and shanked another towards the end. Could have been punished.

Benjamin Pavard (RB) - 6/10 - Did not do anything noticeable wrong, but not the most inspiring offensive display.

Tanguy Nianzou (CB) - 7/10 - Well down the pecking order but did not look all that out of place here.

Lucas Hernandez (CB) - 7/10 - Always comfortable when defending and in possession. Misplaced just one pass before being taken off at the break.

Alphonso Davies (LB) - 6/10 - Does this guy ever stop running? A constant outlet for his side offensively, although his positioning was questionable for the goal.

2. Midfielders

Leon Goretzka (CM) - 7/10 - Provided solidity in Joshua Kimmich's absence. Had no issues keeping things ticking over in midfield, despite little support. Great tackle at the end.

Corentin Tolisso (CM) - 7/10 - Really enjoyed himself in an advanced role. Drove forward with the ball, arrived late in the box and sprayed passes for fun.

Thomas Muller (AM) - 6/10 - Devilish dummy created the second goal. Quite wasteful in possession.

3. Forwards

Leroy Sane (RW) - 6/10 - Made some intelligent runs but was not always found by his teammates.

Robert Lewandowski (ST) - 7/10 - His overhead kick was a joy to behold. His ability to just keep on scoring is absolutely bonkers.

Kingsley Coman (LW) - 7/10 - Took his goal extremely well. Stayed too wide at times in the first half, but always a danger.

4. Substitutes

Bouna Sarr (CB) - 3/10 - Picked up a clumsy yellow early on during his cameo. Nowhere near Hernandez's level. Poor for Dynamo's goal too.

Marc Roca (CB) - 6/10 - Forgot this fella existed before he came on. Did okay.

Malik Tillman (RW) - N/A

Omar Richards (LB) - N/A
