Dynamo Kyiv 0-2 Juventus: Player Ratings as Morata Brace Spearheads Bianconeri Triumph

Andrea Pirlo's Champions League coaching career started off with a win as Juventus overcame Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 in Ukraine.

The hosts were content on sitting deep and compact in a bid to frustrate their superior visitors, with the ploy working a treat in the opening period as Juve struggled to create.

IBianconeri, however, eventually penetrated Dynamo's block swiftly after the restart as Alvaro Morata poached home the opener. The Ukrainian side were meek in their attempt to find an equaliser and were made to pay by Morata once more, who headed in his second of the contest to secure a comfortable victory for the Italians.

Here are Juventus' player ratings from their Group G triumph.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Wojciech Szczęsny (GK) - 6/10 - Was not tested against a pretty passive Dynamo Kyiv side who didn't opt to attack until the 75th minute.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - 6/10 - Like his goalkeeper, Bonucci was rarely tested in this one but nonetheless didn't put a foot wrong when called upon. Was uncharacteristically erratic in possession at times, mind.

Giorgio Chiellini (CB) - 5/10 - Almost handed a gift by George Bushchan but headed wide. Forced off before the 20-minute mark with a hamstring injury.

Danilo (CB) - 6/10 - Tough task of playing on the left of a three/left-back considering his right-footed preference but performed admirably in the role. Although, he was pretty inactive defensively and rarely contributed in Juve's build-up play. A quiet showing.

2. Wing Backs & Midfielders

Juan Cuadrado (RWB) - 6/10 - Settled in nicely at right-back as part of the Bianconeri's 4-4-2 out of possession and despite offering little in the offensive phase throughout, it was the Colombian's wicked cross which allowed Morata to net his second on the night.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - 4/10 - A poor showing from the athletic Uruguayan. Wasn't scanning his surroundings which led to frequent unforced errors in dangerous zones. Impressive passing range on display as well, though.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) - 6/10 - Certainly fared the better of the midfield pivot. Pressed diligently in opening period and blocked space astutely in the second as hosts searched for an equaliser. Careful in possession and advanced on the odd occasion to smartly take up positions between the lines.

Aaron Ramsey (AM) - 7/10 - Handed plenty of freedom by Pirlo as Juve's trequartista and was the heartbeat of the side. Often drifted out to the left which facilitated advancement of Chiesa and combined well with the former Fiorentina starlet. Crafty backheel played a big role in Morata's opener.

Federico Chiesa (LWB) - 7/10 - A useful outlet for the Bianconeri down the left. Swift stepover saw him work an opening in early stages but shot was well-saved by Bushchan. Constant menace in one-v-one situations all night.

3. Forwards

Dejan Kulusevski (ST) - 5/10 - Typically occupied the half-spaces smartly but didn't have much of an influence before his strike led to Juve's opener, with Bushchan parrying into the path of Morata. Substituted for Paulo Dybala before the hour.

Alvaro Morata (ST) - 7/10 - Such an Alvaro Morata performance this. Contributed very little apart from his poacher's brace; his second was a fine header from a superb Cuadrado cross.
