Borussia Dortmund kept their hopes of securing Champions League football next season alive with a thrilling 3-2 win over RB Leipzig at Signal Iduna Park - a result that crowns Bayern Munich as Bundesliga champions once more.

The hosts were a goal ahead at half-time after smart build-up play between Lukasz Piszczek and Thorgan Hazard released Marco Reus, who cut inside nicely to smash past Peter Gulacsi from close range.

It was two soon not long the break as Jadon Sancho took advantage of some static defending to steer home, and at that point it looked unlikely that Leipzig would get back into the game. But Julian Nagelsmann's side were handed a lifeline when Lukas Klostermann headed home Emil Forsberg's corner, and they were level 15 minutes later when Dani Olmo punished some woeful defending from BVB.

The visitors looked the more likely winners, only for Sancho and Guerreiro to link up once more five minutes from time - the former tapping into an empty net after the Portuguese full-back had forced the ball back across goal.

Here's how Dortmund's players rated...

Borussia Dortmund player ratings

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Marwin Hitz (GK) - 6/10 - Made a smart stop from Hwang Hee-chan in the first few minutes of the game. Took a blow to the knee when attempting to claim Emil Forsberg's free kick and was forced off at half-time.

Lukasz Piszczek (RB) - 6/10 - The veteran full-back played his part in Dortmund's opening goal and was generally decent going forward. Found himself backtracking as the game wore on.

Manuel Akanji (CB) - 6/10 - Another average defensive display from a player so much is expected from. Leipzig weren't in the game for an hour but their movement late on had Dortmund all over the shop.

Mats Hummels (CB) - 5/10 - For a player with so much experience, Hummels was abject in the second half. Poor decision making and rash in the tackle, he was at fault for allowing Leipzig through for a second.

Raphael Guerreiro (LB) - 8/10 - As with most modern day full-backs, Guerreiro is only really interested in doing one thing - getting forward and creating chances. Did that to great effect, teeing up Sancho twice to get BVB firing.

2. Midfielders

Emre Can (CM) - 6/10 - Looks more assured playing in a central midfield duo but let himself down by switching off at a set piece to allow Klostermann to glance home. Was eventually overrun as Leipzig seized control, only to see his side nick it late on.

Mahmoud Dahoud (CM) - 7/10 - Does this man ever get flustered? A wonderful operator in tight spaces, recycling the ball efficiently and quickly throughout. Let down by others after he'd gone off on the hour.

Marco Reus (AM) - 7/10 - Wonderful step over engineered the space for Hazard to reverse a superb ball through for his goal. Calm and composed with the finish.

3. Forwards

Jadon Sancho (RW) - 8/10 - Switched wings with Reyna throughout the game and although he wasted a great chance in the first half, took his two goals smartly - although he was helped by Leipzig leaving him in acres of space for both.

Thorgan Hazard (CF) - 7/10 - Filling in for Erling Haaland was never going to be easy but Hazard was instrumental in Reus' goal - perfectly flicking Piszczek's pass round the corner to release the German in behind. Subbed.

Giovanni Reyna (LW) - 5/10 - Was barely involved in proceedings, struggling to get on the ball whatever flanked he popped up on. Surprising he wasn't subbed earlier.

4. Substitutes

Roman Burki (GK) - 6/10 - Made a smart save from Sabitzer early in the second half but could do nothing to stop Klostermann's header, nor Olmo's equaliser.

Thomas Delaney - 5/10 - Things were under control when Dahoud left the field, but the tide turned when Delaney entered the fray. Not solely to blame but just couldn't get a grip on proceedings.

Julian Brandt - 6/10.

Ansgar Knauff - N/A.
