Atlanta United have added forward Dom Dwyer to the roster through the 2023 MLS season, with club options for 2024 and 2025.

The player joins as a free agent after being traded to FC Dallas from Toronto FC. The Texas club exercised their one offseason contract buyout on Dwyer, and he joined Atlanta in preseason camp.

“Dom is a veteran striker who knows what it takes to win in this league,” Atlanta United VP and technical director Carlos Bocanegra said in a release.

“He has fit into the group well in the time he has spent with us and will be an addition to our attacking group.”

Dwyer has extensive Major League Soccer experience after stints with Toronto, Orlando City and Sporting Kansas City. He’s recorded 81 goals and 19 assists in 209 regular-season appearances across clubs.

The player joins Atlanta’s frontline, alongside Josef Martinez and Jackson Conway.

Internationally, the England-born player has four caps with the US men’s national team after becoming eligible to play for the American side in 2017.
