David Moyes hit out at manner of Man Utd sacking in 2014
David Moyes has admitted he was unhappy with the way Manchester United sacked him as manager in 2014.
The Scot, who is under pressure at West Ham after picking up just one point from the club's last seven Premier League games, famously succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson as United manager in 2013, but saw out just 10 months of the six-year contract he signed before being dismissed.
United are yet to win a Premier League title since Ferguson retired - he won 13 in 21 seasons - with Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer among those to have fallen short of the club's exceptionally high standards.
Moyes' tenure came at a time of transition for United, but there was no hiding place for him after a desperately disappointing 2-0 defeat at former club Everton. He was sacked two days after that result - marking the third shortest tenure of any manager to have bossed United - despite receiving support from a number of former players.
In an interview with entrepreneur Steven Bartlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Moyes has now revealed how he found out about losing his job, where he said that the process he went through with United "was not right".
He said: "I always think you have to give bad news well. You're the boss, you run a really big business like Manchester United. If you've got any class or any style, when you're having to give bad news out, it has to be done in a good way.

"I felt the way I was told (about the sacking) wasn't done as well as it should've been. It could've been done better and made a lot easier. Looking back now, you think 'hey, that's life, get on with it' but if you're one of the biggest sports businesses in the world, if not the biggest, you would hope you would do things correctly.
"I found out about my sacking through the media. I tried to make contact and say 'why don't we meet up' but it didn't suit and before I knew it they called me in the day after and the whole world knew about it before I got to know.
"Sometimes people want to get it done right and I didn't think it was right. But I genuinely don't have any real gripe about it because of the industry I'm in."
Moyes recorded 27 wins from his 51 games in charge of United, giving him a win percentage of 52.94%, losing 15 and drawing nine.
