The son of Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to follow his father to Saudi Arabia to join the Mahd Academy.

Cristiano Jr, 12, has moved with his father multiple times in the past, signing up with both Juventus and Manchester United before a brief spell with Real Madrid earlier this year following the senior Ronaldo's exit from Old Trafford.

Now, however, Goal state that Cristiano Jr is heading out to Saudi Arabia to join the Mahd Sports Academy. which was founded just two years ago with the mission of becoming 'one of the biggest sporting academies around the world'.

The president of Ronaldo's boyhood side, Frederico Varandas, has previously hailed the work done by the Mahd Academy.

"Sporting Lisbon has seen the emergence of icons such as Luis Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo amongst others, but in reality we are not simply a football club, rather we have more than 50 sports operating within our club that are backed with scouts and coaches roaming the nation in search of talented young players," he said.

“Across our sporting history we have had the knowledge to distinguish large projects capable of propelling young talent such as the project we are witnessing today with Mahd Sports Academy, and we hope to meet in the future."
