The Copa del Rey is the premier annual domestic cup competition in Spanish football and it can certainly entertain.

Barcelona has won it a staggering 31 times in their history, with Athletic Bilbao second on the list with 23.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have 19 Copa del Rey titles to their name, so it is a competition that the biggest clubs take seriously.

However, nowadays it can be tough to watch if you are outside of Spain. So, how can you watch Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Copa de Rey?

If you are in the UK, finding a live Copa del Rey broadcast can certainly be tricky. No UK broadcaster currently have the rights to the competition.

That has been the state of play for most of the last decade. It was previously made available via a match-pass purchase system on YouTube, and Premier Sports – now Viaplay Sports – bought the rights for two years.

Their deal has now lapsed, though, and poor viewing figures meant it was not renewed. BT Sport, meanwhile, picked up the Supercopa rights, but opted to leave the Copa del Rey on the table.
