From Gtech Community Stadium - Ivan Toney and Cody Gakpo have been left out of Brentford and Liverpool's respective matchday squads for their Premier League showdown on Monday.

The striker picked up a leg injury towards the end of Friday's win at West Ham and had to be stretchered off.

However, it was later revealed that the problem was not serious and that there was a chance of Toney featuring against Liverpool.

But Toney, who has scored 12 Premier League goals already this season, has not recovered in time and will miss the showdown with the Reds in west London. He has been replaced in the starting XI by Yoane Wissa, who scored the final goal a 3-3 draw with Jurgen Klopp's side in this fixture last season.

For Liverpool, Cody Gakpo will have to wait for his debut after missing out on a place in the matchday squad.

Klopp hinted last week that the Dutchman is more likely to feature for the Reds in their FA Cup third round tie against Wolves.
