Chloe Kelly is poised to be included in the Manchester City squad on Saturday for the first time since tearing her ACL in May 2021 after Gareth Taylor confirmed she should be available for minutes against West Ham.
The winger suffered the injury against Birmingham 11 months ago, with City carefully easing her back into action due to the serious nature of the injury.
Speaking last week, Taylor had been hopeful that Kelly would be available for minutes from the bench during his side's WSL clash with the Hammers, and confirmed in Thursday's pre-match press conference that she was on course for this to still be the case.
"Nothing dissimilar to previously apart from Chloe being available for minutes," Taylor said when quizzed on team news ahead of the West Ham fixture. "As long as she comes through training tomorrow. I think Chloe's got a real, good solid base of training under her belt.
"Having a player come back into the squad with those capabilities and what she's shown last season is great. We just need to be patient in not expecting the levels that we saw straight away from last season. Who knows; the way she's looking in training, she's looking really sharp and ready."
However, Taylor confirmed that City would continue to be without Vicky Losada, Steph Houghton and Esme Morgan, with the former expected to return after the international break, but the latter unlikely to feature for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.
"Vicky's close to being back on pitch," Taylor added. "Hopefully for Vicky after the international break. The more options we have the better.
"Esme's been out on pitch the last few days but very much looking at Esme for next season, I think it's going to be too much to get back in time for anything this season."
