Chicago Fire have signed Greek youth international striker Georgios Koutsias from PAOK.

Koutsias will occupy a U22 Initiative roster slot through the 2026 Major League Soccer season, with an option for 2027. He will also take up an international roster position.

"Georgios is a talented young player with the potential to make an immediate contribution to our front line," Chicago sporting director Georg Heitz said in a release. "At just 19 years old, he has experience in a competitive European league and at the youth international level. We’re excited to welcome Georgios to Chicago."

Koutsias arrives after a loan spell at Greek side Volos NPS, where he scored five times in 23 matches. The player will likely replace former Chicago striker Jhon Duran, who departed ahead of the 2023 MLS campaign to join English Premier League side Aston Villa last month for up to $22m.

He stands as one of three additions to the team for the new campaign, joining league veteran Kei Kamara and Kacper Pryzbylko. Chicago is expected to make at least one more signing, as they remain on the hunt for a Designated Player to join Xherdan Shaqiri and Jairo Torres.

Chicago will play their season opener on March 4 against New York City FC at Soldier Field.
