Chelsea and Tottenham are due to play a rearranged fixture in the WSL that was originally scheduled to take place in early January but was one of many games that fell victim to renewed Covid-19 concerns around that time.

A win in this one would see Chelsea leapfrog leaders Arsenal and go top of the table for the first time this season. They were held by the Gunners last time out in the league, however, and have surprisingly only won two of their last five in the competition.

The Blues were also comfortable winners against Birmingham in the FA Cup last weekend.

Having already been knocked out, Spurs weren't involved in the FA Cup and come into this one well rested following a narrow defeat to Manchester City a week and a half ago.

Their bid for Champions League football has slipped since the turn of the calendar year, winning only two of their six WSL games in 2022. But they are not completely out of the hunt and a positive result here would go a long way resurrecting those hopes.

Chelsea team news

Fran Kirby remains out of contention for the time being, which Emma Hayes has confirmed is to allow her to rest to combat tiredness.

The Chelsea boss could make changes from the side that hammered Birmingham 5-0 in the cup, with top scorer Sam Kerr likely to return after sitting that one out on the bench.

Tottenham team news

Spurs continue to be without winger Jessica Naz, who is still recovering from an injury while on international duty with England's junior Lionesses last month.

But manager Rehanne Skinner has confirmed that her squad is otherwise in a 'good place' going into this one.

Chelsea vs Tottenham score prediction

This is the first time that Chelsea and Spurs have met this season, but it promises to be a closer contest than in the past - Spurs have only ever been beaten by Chelsea and have never even scored against them when it comes to to WSL matches alone.

Spurs are arguably the most improved team in the league in 2021/22 and have shown they are capable of frustrating the best sides, having taken points off both Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as limiting the latter to few chances in their recent defeat.

Chelsea remain favourites because of the overwhelming quality in their squad, but expect them to have to work hard for a victory against a resilient opponent.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham
