Chelsea team news

Chelsea's famous squad depth is currently being pushed to the maximum, with Emma Hayes revealing that Wednesday evening's match day squad could be as small as 13.

Magda Eriksson, Maren Mjelde, and Beth England are all missing through injury or illness, while Lauren James is on her way back to full fitness but missed training on Tuesday with a cold.

Ji So-yun is away at the Asia Cup, having hit the winner to eliminate Sam Kerr's Australia on Sunday. Kerr touched back down in the UK on Tuesday, and could be thrust straight back into first team action given how stretched the Blues squad is.

Manchester United team news

Manchester United made a trio of deadline day signings, and two of them are in contention to make their debuts on Wednesday evening. Defender Diane Caldwell and striker Signe Bruun could both feature, but midfielder Jade Moore is not yet available as she returns to full fitness.

Kirsty Hanson has returned to training following an injury layoff and could make her first team return, but Lucy Staniforth and Millie Turner will both miss out through injury.

Chelsea vs Manchester United score prediction

Manchester United go into Wednesday evening's clash in a rich vein of form, as they look to stretch their winning run to eight games across all competitions.

They could be playing Chelsea at the perfect time, as Hayes' side contend with a multitude of absentees while having to manage their squad ahead of crucial WSL fixtures against Manchester City and Arsenal in the coming weeks.

It promises to be a tightly contested encounter, but United could just edge it to book their place in a major final for the very first time.
