Chelsea Women have confirmed the signing of England international goalkeeper Hannah Hampton on a three-year deal.

Hampton recently left Aston Villa Women after two seasons at the club in which she made 43 appearances in all competitions and made her maiden appearances for the England national team.

She has now joined a Chelsea side that has won the last four WSL titles.

Speaking to the club's official website following the move, Hampton said: "I'm very excited! It's a massive club, it's an honour to be a part of this and to be able to wear the club's badge. I want to keep improving, to help the team however I can and I'd love to win some trophies with the club at the same time."

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes also hailed Hampton as 'one of the best young goalkeepers in the world'.

"There is no doubt that Hannah is one of the best young goalkeepers in the world. Her performances have been improving year on year, and we have high hopes for her future with us," Hayes said.

Hampton joins a club who already boast an immense amount of talent between the sticks, with Chelsea now having four international goalkeepers in their squad.

Belgian number one Nicky Evrard has already been signed this summer, joining Zecira Musovic and Ann-Katrin Berger. England junior international Emily Orman is also highly-rated.
