Champions League: Team of the last 16
Well that was a fun last 16, wasn't it?
We had a shocking upset in Turin, where Villarreal thumped Juventus 3-0. We had a Diego Simeone masterclass in Manchester, where Atletico Madrid pulled off a perfect snatch-and-grab win. And we had one of the greatest Champions League games of all time in the Spanish capital, where Real Madrid came from behind to knock PSG out of the tournament.
So after watching all that great football, we at 90min decided to make a team of the last 16 for your reading pleasure.
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Jan Oblak (GK) - Finally back to his best this week...at the worst possible time for Manchester United fans. The Slovenian looked unbeatable in the second leg at Old Trafford.
Serge Aurier (RB) - Yeah, really. He played well against Juventus in Villarreal's shock 3-0 win in Turin. Assist. Clean sheet. Zero brain farts. Great stuff.
Pau Torres (CB) - Linked with basically every club in England, and on Wednesday night you could see why. Torres man-marked Dusan Vlahovic to perfection and even chipped in with a goal at the other end.
Jan Vertonghen (CB) - The former Tottenham man put in his best performances in about five years in Benfica's second leg clash with Ajax.
Alex Grimaldo (LB) - Pocketed highly-rated Antony in Benfica's second leg win over Ajax - no mean feat let us tell you.
2. Midfielders
Bernardo Silva (RM) - Makes the cut because of his first leg performance against a, well, hopeless Sporting CP side. The midfielder put Sporting to the sword, scoring two goals in Lisbon - including a goal of the tournament contender.
Luka Modric (CM) - The driving force behind one of the best Champions League comebacks of all time. Modric was at his imperious best in the final 20 minutes of Real Madrid's dramatic win over PSG. One of the best midfielders ever.
Thomas Muller (CM) - Bagged himself a brace in Bayern's 7-1 thrashing of RB Salzburg. His partnership with Robert Lewandowski is still one of the best in Europe.
Vinicius Jr (LM) - Up against one of the best right-backs in the world in Achraf Hakimi, Vinicius proved his worth to Real Madrid with an electric performance in their win over PSG.
3. Forwards
Robert Lewandowski (ST) - Another game, another Champions League hat-trick. The norm for Lewa at this point.
Karim Benzema (ST) - The forward's performance vs PSG may be one of the greatest in the competition's history. Benzema scored all three goals in the comeback win at Santiago Bernabeu, accentuating the fact that he may just be the best footballer in the world right now.
