We're now well into crunch time of the 2023/24 Champions League group stages.

The penultimate matchday of the group should boast no shortage of drama and Tuesday's batch of fixtures contain a couple of standouts. Newcastle's trip to Paris Saint-Germain will undoubtedly tickle a few fancies given what went down at St James' Park, while some might be wanting to keep a close eye on Barcelona's clash with Porto.

Here's everything you need to know about Tuesday's Champions League fixtures.

Lazio vs Celtic - Group E

  • Location: Rome, Italy
  • Stadium: Stadio Olimpico
  • Date: Tuesday 28 November
  • Kick-off Time: 17:45 GMT / 12:45 ET / 09:45 PT
  • Referee: Halil Umut Meler (TUR)
  • VAR: Alper Ulusoy (TUR)

It's been yet another torrid European campaign for Celtic, who were thrashed by Atletico Madrid last time out to all but end their chances of even securing a Europa League berth.

However, the Scots will feel as if they can snatch a result in Rome on Tuesday given Lazio's woes. While Maurizio Sarri's side have performed well in Group E so far, they currently occupy a mid-table slot in Serie A and were beaten again at the weekend, this time by Salernitana.

The hosts can take a giant leap towards round of 16 qualification with a win over Celtic.

  • Location: Hamburg, Germany
  • Stadium: Volksparkstadion
  • Date: Tuesday 28 November
  • Kick-off Time: 17:45 GMT / 12:45 ET / 09:45 PT
  • Referee: Bartosz Frankowski (POL)
  • VAR: Marco Fritz (GER)

Shakhtar's campaign burst into life on Matchday 4 as they beat a Barcelona side that could've wrapped up top spot in Group H with two matchdays to spare.

A solitary goal saw them edge the fixture and they're now hunting down the group's current top two. They'll be expected to topple Royal Antwerp in Hamburg, although they were made to work incredibly hard for their victory in the reverse fixture.

The Belgian side have lost all four of their group encounters and are merely playing for pride.

  • Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
  • Stadium: De Kuip
  • Date: Tuesday 28 November
  • Kick-off Time: 20:00 GMT / 15:00 ET / 12:00 PT
  • Referee: Anthony Taylor (ENG)
  • VAR: Stuart Attwell (ENG)

These two sides played out a cracking game at the start of October with Atletico edging it on home soil.

With Lazio hosting a favourable fixture on Matchday 5, this clash in Rotterdam is huge for both teams. Atletico currently sit atop Group E with eight points, but Feyenoord, who are excellent at De Kuip, are just two points adrift in third.

Given their stellar home form, Feyenoord will feel they'll have to win on Wednesday to progress into the round of 16. A point will do nicely for the visitors.

  • Location: Paris, France

  • Kick-off Time: 20:00 GMT / 15:00 ET / 12:00 PT
  • Referee: Szymon Marciniak (POL)
  • VAR: Tomasz Kwiatkowski (POL)

Newcastle ascended to the highest of highs when they beat Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 less than two months ago. The Magpies were outstanding and completely overwhelmed the visitors, but they've since fallen to the bottom of a mightily tough Group F.

Back-to-back defeats to Borussia Dortmund has left the Premier League side with a mountain to climb if they're to advance into the last 16. They need points away in Paris on Tuesday.

PSG have endured a mixed campaign so far and missed the chance to take control of the group on Matchday 4, falling to a 2-1 defeat to Milan. Luis Enrique's side have still got work to do.

  • Kick-off Time: 20:00 GMT / 15:00 ET / 12:00 PT
  • Referee: Istvan Kovacs (ROU)
  • VAR: Pol van Boekel (NED)

Milan produced their performance of the season so far to beat PSG on Matchday 4 which breathed fresh life into their Champions League campaign.

The Rossoneri are now well in the mix and have another home game upcoming as they seek to down the beatable group leaders. Dortmund took advantage of Newcastle's injuries, particularly in the home fixture, and beat them twice to take a strong position at Group F's summit.

However, given the nature of this group, their fate could take a turn for the worse if they're beaten in Milan.

  • VAR: Alejandro José Hernández Hernández (ESP)

Man City have once again barely had to break a sweat in the group stage and have all but secured their spot in the round of 16 as group winners.

The Cityzens have won four from four at a canter, although RB Leipzig did give them a scare on Matchday 2. The East Germans will join City in the last 16 draw having amassed seven points from their four games, but they must become the first side since Liverpool in April 2018 to beat City at the Etihad in a Champions League fixture to stand any chance of topping the group.

Group G has played out as most thought it would and there's a straight shootout for third place between Young Boys and Red Star Belgrade.

Man City and RB Leipzig have coasted into the round of 16, with these two sides picking up one point each which, of course, arrived in the reverse fixture.

With Young Boys hosting Tuesday's game and Red Star taking on City in two weeks time, it appears as if the Swiss side have the advantage.

  • Location: Barcelona, Spain
  • Stadium: Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys
  • Date: Tuesday 28 November
  • Kick-off Time: 20:00 GMT / 15:00 ET / 12:00 PT
  • Referee: Daniele Orsato (ITA)
  • VAR: Massimiliano Irrati (ITA)

Just months removed from guiding Barcelona to the La Liga title, Xavi's seat is starting to heat up. There are reports that the Barca boss could get the boot if his side are beaten by Porto on Tuesday night.

The Catalans are still in a strong position in Group H as they face bottom dwellers Royal Antwerp on Matchday 6, but Xavi will be desperate to oversee a win in midweek. Victory will see Barca into the knockout stages and ease the pressure on the Spaniard.

However, Porto are level on points with the La Liga side at the top of the group and are undoubtedly capable of compounding Xavi's woes.
