CF Montreal added 2022 MLS SuperDraft first-round pick Jojea Kwizera to the roster, signing him through the end of the season with options extending from 2023 to 2025.

The player was selected as 15th overall by the Canadian side after a successful collegiate career at Utah Valley University. He participated in Montreal’s pre-season camp, and featured in all four of their pre-season friendlies.

“Jojea had shown us some good things during preseason, and we had made our decision some time ago, but we were waiting on some immigration documentation,” sporting director Olivier Renard said in a release.

“We're pleased to welcome Jojea officially with us. We hope he will continue his development within our organization.”

During his time with Utah Valley University, the player recorded four goals and 10 assists and kicked off seven games as a starter.

The Canadian MLS side could use some reinforcement after a rough start to their 2022 campaign. The team currently sits in 13th place on the Eastern Conference table with four points in five matches and a record of 1-1-3.

CF Montreal returns to the pitch on Saturday to face the NY Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.
