Carlo Ancelotti has disclosed that he has an 'impossible' Real Madrid dream on the eve of El Clasico.

The Italian manager is one of world football's most beloved figures and proved a lot of doubters wrong when he led Los Blancos to a La Liga and UEFA Champions League double last season, becoming the first coach to win all of Europe's top five domestic titles.

Though he has already claimed glory in the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup this season, there is mounting pressure on Ancelotti following a dismal defence of their Spanish crown thus far - defeat to rivals Barcelona on Sunday will leave them 12 points off the pace in La Liga.

At a press conference prior to this weekend's trip to Camp Nou, Ancelotti was asked whether he deserves the chance to stay on at Real Madrid.

"It's an evaluation that the club has to make, not me," Ancelotti replied, before going on to disclose his 'impossible' dream.

"I've said many times that I'd stay here for life, but I think that's impossible. It's a decision the club will take at the end of the season, whatever happens."

After it was suggested he'd need a third trophy to survive the axe at the end of the season, Ancelotti added: "Ruled change! And unwritten rules too. But I'm convinced that we'll win something this season, so that's that."

Real Madrid have been drawn against Chelsea once again in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, with the winner to face either Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.
