The Canadian Men's National Team returns to action with a Concacaf Nations League clash at home to Curaçao on Thursday.

With recent friendlies against Iran and Panama canceled, John Herdman's side have had no preparation for this competitive tie at Vancouver Whitecaps' BC Place stadium.

Nevertheless, after finishing above the United States and Mexico at the top of the Concacaf World Cup qualifying table, the Canucks will be big favorites to take all three points.

Curaçao have made a mixed start to their Nations League campaign, falling 1-0 at home to Honduras, before beating the same side 2-1 on the road to end a six-game winless streak.

After two windows out, Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies returns to the field for Canada and not a moment too soon with the 2022 World Cup fast approaching.

Herdman will be mindful of how quickly the Honduras game next week will come around, but with his players well-rested having not played a friendly, he might well go full strength here to make a good start. The likes of Jonathan David, Cyle Larin, and Tajon Buchanan should all expect to start.

Canada will be without Jonathan Osorio, who has dropped out of the roster after picking up an injury in Toronto FC's MLS match against the Chicago Fire.

Curaçao team news

MLS fans will recognize Columbus Crew No.1 Eloy Room between the sticks for Curaçao, who also have former Premier League stars like Vurnon Anita, Cuco Martina, and Leandro Bacuna within their ranks.

Canada vs Curaçao head-to-head record

This will be just the second meeting between these two nations, with the first resulting in a 2-1 friendly win for Canada back in June 2017 thanks to goals from Manjrekar James and Anthony Jackson-Hamel.

Canada vs Curaçao score prediction

Things have only been getting better for Canada over the past couple of years and with Alphonso Davies now back in action, that trend should continue.

Curaçao are no pushovers and have some dangerous players within their ranks plying their trade in the Dutch top-flight, MLS, and English Championship.

But right across the pitch, Canada are superior and should come out comfortable winners.

Prediction: Canada 2-0 Curaçao
