Manchester United will be looking to get their first points of the 2020/21 Premier League season when they visit Brighton on Saturday.

The Seagulls come into this game having made a mostly positive start to the campaign, recently beating Newcastle and progressing to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

On the other hand, the visitors have not made an ideal start to life in the new season, losing their opening fixture to Crystal Palace. However, they showed signs of recovery with a victory over Luton in the midweek cup action.

The two sides have faced each other at the AMEX Stadium three times in the last three seasons, with the hosts coming out on top twice. However, the last meeting between the two ended in an emphatic 3-0 victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Recent Form

Brighton began the new season with a home defeat against Chelsea but have since bounced back in fine fashion, winning three games in a row without conceding.

The Seagulls have already found the net on ten occasions this term in all competitions, having played just four games. It took them ten games to reach this figure last season.

In contrast, it's been a far from ideal start for United, succumbing to a 3-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.

However, this was their first league defeat since January, ending the previous campaign with a 14-game unbeaten streak to secure a Champions League place.

Here is how both sides have looked in their last five games.

Brighton

Preston 0-2 Brighton (23/9)
Newcastle 0-3 Brighton (20/9)
Brighton 4-0 Portsmouth (17/9)
Brighton 1-3 Chelsea (14/9)
Burnley 1-2 Brighton (26/7)

Manchester United

Luton Town 0-3 Manchester United (22/9)
Manchester United 1-3 Crystal Palace (19/9)
Sevilla 2-1 Manchester United (16/8)

Manchester United 2-1 LASK (5/8)

Prediction

There is much discontent among United fans and the defeat against Palace did little to appease the angered supporters. Solskjaer will know that a good result is needed to maintain a positive atmosphere.

Perhaps the last thing they needed was to face a confident Brighton side. With the home side in high spirits and the pressure off, this game seems primed for an upset.

If the Red Devils bring their A-game, they'll have too much for their opponents. However, with the general negative emotions surrounding the club right now, another disappointing performance could be on the cards.

Prediction: Brighton 2-1 Manchester United
