Brighton team news

Neal Maupay

Neal Maupay was subbed off against Watford after scoring and replaced by Adam Connolly. The Irishman could get the nod to start if Maupay doesn't recover in time.

Danny Welbeck, Joel Veltman, Tariq Lamptey and Dan Burn all remain out of action. With two league wins from two so far, Potter will likely see little reason to tinker with his starting XI.

Moise Kean is suspended following his red card in the Carabao Cup, though he doesn't seem to be among Rafa Benitez's favoured options in wide positions and likely wouldn't have started anyway.

James Rodriguez's exile will continue, but Ben Godfrey is out of isolation and will be assessed before Saturday's game.

Brighton vs Everton predicted lineups

Brighton: Sanchez; Webster, Duffy, Dunk, March; Gross, Lallana, Bissouma, Mac Allister; Trossard; Connolly.

Everton: Pickford; Coleman, Holgate, Keane, Digne; Allan, Doucoure; Townsend, Gray, Richarlison; Calvert-Lewin.

Brighton vs Everton head-to-head record

Brighton and Everton don't have the most extensive history, having often played in different divisions throughout their respective histories.

Everton have nine wins to Brighton's four with six draws, and have generally got the better of their upcoming opponents since their arrival into the Premier League.

The Toffees beat Brighton twice in 2020, though this corresponding fixture ended in a boring goalless draw last season.

Brighton vs Everton prediction

Both sides come into this clash in decent nick, having each won their Carabao Cup games in midweek.

The two teams have been involved in entertaining games so far, and while Brighton may feel they'll have the edge to get three points, they may be pulled back by this Everton side.

It should be an entertaining game, but one that may end in stalemate.

Prediction: Brighton 1-1 Everton
