Brentford host Manchester United on Wednesday off the back of just one win in their last four Premier League games.

In ordinary circumstances, the Bees would not hold out much hope of ending that run. However, the Red Devils have underwhelmed massively in recent weeks and Thomas Frank's side may smell blood.

Here is the starting XI Frank is most likely to go with in midweek.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Alvaro Fernandez (GK) - With first-choice David Raya still out of action, Fernandez will continue between the sticks.

Kristoffer Ajer (CB) - His return to the starting XI has been a significant boost of late, even if the defence has shipped seven goals in their last two league games.

Pontus Jansson (CB) - The only ever-present in the Premier League for the Bees this season.

Ethan Pinnock (CB) - Pinnock has only missed one game this term, and no Brentford player has won more aerial duels. Take that, Ivan Toney.

2. Wing-backs & midfielders

Mads Roerslev (RWB) - Should be set for another league start at right wing-back, allowing Sergi Canos to play on the left.

Vitaly Janelt (CM) - The German will have his hands full matching the energy of Fred and Scott McTominay is midfield.

Christian Norgaard (CM) - Has only missed one Premier League outing this campaign, having taken to the top flight like a duck to water.

Mathias Jensen (CM) - Has been starting recently in the absence of Frank Onyeka, who is on international duty with Nigeria.

Sergi Canos (LWB) - Rico Henry's fitness needs to be managed so Canos could slot in on the left.

3. Forwards

Bryan Mbeumo (ST) - Always a danger and is in search of a fourth league goal for the season.

Ivan Toney (ST) - The goals have dried up for Toney after a promising start. He will be hoping to change his fortunes on Wednesday.
