Bournemouth desperately need a win to kick-start their survival bid when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Vitality Stadium on Thursday.

The Cherries have picked up just one point in their last eight games, which has left them four points from safety with just five games remaining.

The visitors travel to the south coast knowing that a victory will take them into seventh place, leapfrogging bitter rivals Arsenal.

Spurs have had mixed fortunes since the restart. Home victories against West Ham and Everton were tainted by a very poor display in the 3-1 defeat to Sheffield United.

Central defender Steve Cook may return to the starting lineup for the Cherries after missing the defeat at Old Trafford with a hamstring injury. Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says that Cook's injury has 'improved to a degree'.

England international Dele Alli will remain out after a hamstring problem saw him left out of the squad for the 1-0 win over Everton, while Eric Dier will serve the first game of his four-match suspension for clambering into the crowd against Norwich before the break.
