An Antoine Griezmann header was enough to give France a 1-0 win over Bosnia & Herzegovina on Wednesday night, as Les Bleus made it seven points from a possible nine in Group D.

The visitors never looked like breaking down their hosts' stern and rigid defensive shape and it was, in fact, Bosnia & Herzegovina who went closest to breaking the deadlock before half time, on 25 minutes. A Miralem Pjanic corner was met by Anel Ahmedhodzic, who forced Hugo Lloris into a stunning reflex stop by Hugo Lloris.

Olivier Giroud's introduction on 59 minutes changed France's style of play and, just a minute after he came on, Les Bleus opened the scoring. Adrien Rabiot floated a delicious cross into the area, for Griezmann to head in at the near post.

Les Bleus held on for a 1-0 win, moving four points clear at the top of Group D. Now, let's take a look at some player ratings...

France player ratings

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Hugo Lloris (GK) - 8/10 - Was called into action a few times, most notably making a superb save to deny Ahmedhodzic to keep it 0-0 in the first half.

Benjamin Pavard (RB) - 6/10 -
Looked off the pace, unable to maraud forward and inject his usual creative spark into proceedings.

Raphael Varane (CB) - 7/10 -
Coped with a menacing Edin Dzeko well and looked composed for the most part, making some good ball recoveries.

Presnel Kimpembe (CB) - 8/10 -
Stood his ground well and was solid at the heart of France's defence, making ten interventions - including covering his partner when Dzeko might have been through on goal late on.

Lucas Hernandez (LB) - 6/10 -
Got up the left well at times but couldn't quite deliver what was needed. Had a decent game defensively though.

2. Midfielders

Paul Pogba (CM) - 6/10 - Sat deep and spread the ball well but with little space in behind, he couldn't really release his teammates. Might have been of better use higher up the field where his technical skill could've caused problems.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) - 7/10 -
Enjoyed the physical battle in the centre of the field and played a good defensive role in protecting the back line from counter attacks. Delivered a lovely cross to set up Griezmann for the winner.

Antoine Griezmann (AM
) - 8/10 - Floated around and did manage to find some pockets of space to make two key passes. Headed well to score his 35th goal for his country.

3. Forwards

Kingsley Coman (RW) - 4/10 - Occasionally found space with the ball but seemed reluctant to take on his man and, in the end, didn't create anything of note.

Kylian Mbappe (ST) - 7/10 -
Was lively and threatening throughout but couldn't run behind the deep-lying defence. Was much more comfortable when Giroud led the line, which allowed him to run from deeper areas and impact the game with his frightening speed and dribbling.

Thomas Lemar (LW) - 6/10 -
Had a free role once again but found it difficult to find space in saturated central areas. He did manage to dictate periods of play however, playing a crucial part in the goal.

4. Substitutes

Olivier Giroud (ST) - 7/10 - Should have started the game - changed the complexion of it after coming on. His presence and positioning alone was enough to create space in dangerous areas and led to Griezmann heading in the winner.

Moussa Sissoko (RW) - N/A
