The 2020/21 season looks destined to be a great year for football shirt enthusiasts across the world.

We may have only had a handful of efforts released across Europe so far but Inter's home jersey, Ajax's away strip and both of Marseille shirts are all absolutely scrumptious.

Not to be outdone by the Nerazzurri's crazy zig zags, Dortmund have dropped an equally outrageous lightning bolt-inspired number. How shocking! Get it?

Featuring diagonal lightning bolts on a stunning yellow background, Puma have seriously pushed the boat out this season. The shirt also incorporates a brand new sponsor, 1&1, bringing the club's long term association with Evonik to an end.

Let us not forgot the classy BVB that is stitched on the collar, nor the cheeky extra lightning bolt that the designers have snuck in on the sleeve.

The shorts and socks are unfortunately less electrified that the shirt. Keeping things simple, the shorts are black with a yellow trim on the sides, while the ensemble in completed with yellow socks that incorporate almost paint stroke like black marks.

The kit signifies the dawning of a new era at Signal Iduna Park with Dortmund set for wholesale changes in the forthcoming transfer window.

Achraf Hakimi has already announced that he will not be wearing yellow and black next season. The Morrocan has returned to Real Madrid following the completion of his loan spell with Antonio Conte's Inter heavily linked with a move.

England international Jadon Sancho also looks as though he could depart, with Manchester United remaining his most likely destination. Sancho did not feature in the video reveal of next season's kit, much to the delight of United fans on social media.

Even if you will can't get Hakimi and Sancho printed on the back, Dortmund's 2020/21 shirt remains a thing of beauty and is available to buy as a post-lockdown treat via the BVB fan store now.
