Footballers never seem happy with their ratings on video games. You have likely already seen plenty of viral videos of players reacting to theirs, often with disdain for the decision-makers at EA Sports.

However, there are bound to be some this year who are chuffed to bits with their new ratings. That's because a number of players have made big leaps over the past year, something reflected in handsome upgrades in EA Sports FC 24.

Here are some of the players with the biggest EA Sports FC 24 rating upgrades.

Gabri Veiga - Al Ahli

When Gabri Veiga was linked with Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea at the beginning of the transfer window, few would have thought he would end up at Al Ahli. The Spanish prodigy made the move regardless, with a much-improved rating on EA Sports FC 24.

The midfielder had a rating of just 61 with Celta Vigo last season, but his stellar performances with the La Liga side have seen him get a +17 rating boost. Veiga now boasts a 78-rated card on EAFC 24 and could be a useful asset given the new-found playability of the Saudi Pro League.

  • FIFA 23: 61
  • EAFC 24: 78

Evan Ferguson - Brighton & Hove Albion

Evan Ferguson's new 73-rated card probably doesn't do his recent performances justice, but it's certainly a significant improvement on last year's 59-rated bronze card.

The Irish sharpshooter, who became only the fourth 18-year-old to net a hat-trick in the Premier League this season, has been pulling up trees at Brighton for the last year.

Ferguson is likely to get a few upgraded cards throughout the season on Ultimate Team, while the youngster could also be a game-changing signing in Career Mode for those with the budget.

  • FIFA 23: 59
  • EAFC 24: 73

Alejandro Balde - Barcelona

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past year, flourishing under Xavi's tutelage at Barcelona. The left-back has seen his 68 FIFA 23 rating boosted to 81 in EAFC 24 - an impressive +13 upgrade.

With 91 pace, expect to see Balde a lot on Ultimate Team, especially with his useful links to Barcelona, La Liga and Spanish players.

  • EAFC 24: 81

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - Napoli

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia blew up last season in Napoli's impressive title-winning side, justifiably earning the nickname 'Kvaradona' for his sensational performances. While he has not quite hit the ground running this campaign, he has received a mammoth upgrade to his EAFC 24 card.

The Georgian was a fairly unknown quantity last season, receiving a 74-rated card on FIFA 23 as a result. However, the winger now boasts an 86-rated card, including a +10 boost to his passing and a +14 to his shooting.

Kvaratskhelia will be tough to stop down the left flank.

  • FIFA 23: 74
  • EAFC 24: 86

Romeo Lavia - Chelsea

If you want to see Romeo Lavia in a Chelsea shirt any time soon, it will have to be on EAFC 24. The Belgian got injured shortly after his £58m arrival at Stamford Bridge, meaning he is still yet to debut for his new club.

He can be satisfied, however, with his improved EAFC 24 card, receiving a +11 upgrade to last year's 62-rated card. Lavia is now 73 overall, meaning he is more one for Career Mode than Ultimate Team.

  • FIFA 23: 62
  • EAFC 24: 73

Moises Caicedo - Chelsea

Another Chelsea midfielder to receive a significant upgrade this year is Moises Caicedo. Following his £115m move, it's hardly surprising that his 70-rated card from FIFA 23 has been boosted, with the Ecuadorian now 80 overall.

The CDM boasts a good variety of stats, including good defending, physicality, passing and pace, making him an all-rounder in the centre of the park. His 85 potential in Career Mode is arguably a little low, however.

  • EAFC 24: 80
