Beth Mead has been voted England's 2021/22 Player of the Year after her record-breaking goal scoring season.

Mead hit 20 goals in 19 appearances for her country - the highest ever in a single season for England - and helped inspire the Lionesses to Euro 2022 glory.

Leah Williamson - who captained England at Euro 2022 - and Keira Walsh - who turned in a player of the match performance in the final - were second and third respectively.

The award is voted for by fans, with Bukayo Saka scooping the men's award in September.

Mead finished as England's top goal scorer at Euro 2022, chipping in with six goals and five assists to win the golden boot and player of the tournament award.

The Arsenal forward broke the deadlock during the Lionesses' opening group stage victory over Austria at Old Trafford, and hit a hat-trick during her side's record-breaking 8-0 win against Norway. She also netted a crucial opener in England's semi final victory over Sweden.

Mead's fine form for club and country during the 2021/22 campaign have already seen her nominated for the Uefa Player of the Year award and Ballon d'Or.
