A safe pair of hands between the sticks is probably the most important thing when it comes to building a team on Football Manager 2024.

The best stoppers earn their teams countless points throughout the season and so it's important to find somebody you can trust, and thankfully, there are plenty of great options on FM24 regardless of the budget you're working with.

Here are 90min's recommendations for goalkeepers to sign on FM24.

Cheap options

Marcelo Grohe
Al Ittihad

Grohe joined Al Ittihad back in the 2018/19 season, well before it was cool. He's 36 but still a great goalkeeper, and is available for £1.3m.

Rui Patricio
Roma

It'll cost you £5.25m to lure Patricio away from Roma. That's a hefty sum of money for a 35-year-old but you'll struggle to find many goalkeepers better than him for that sort of money.

Claudio Bravo
Real Hispalis

Still going strong at 40 years old, Bravo has been transfer listed and can be picked up for as little as £550,000.

Antonio Adan
Sporting CP

At 36 and on an expiring contract, you can snap Adan up for £1.4m at the start of the game. He's a reliable stopper who can help fill the void while you search for a long-term signing.

Andriy Lunin
R. Madrid

Still only 24 years old, Lunin is destined to leave Madrid at the end of his contract next summer. You can sign him now for £3.2m and, if you coach him right, you can help him develop into a truly top goalkeeper.

90min recommends

David de Gea
Free Agent

You'll need to be a sizeable club to tempt De Gea to join, but he's one to aim for if you need some immediate cover. His shot-stopping is among the best in the game, but you'll have to accept 8 composure and 7 passing if you sign him.

Lukasz Fabianski
West Ham United

Having now formally lost his starting spot, Fabianski is available for just over £2m. He's another who'is towards the end of his career, but he'll do a great job for you for the next year.

Martin Dubravka
Newcastle United

34-year-old Dubravka isn't needed in the Newcastle project and so you can lure him away for £3.5m. It's a little steep but he's one to consider if you can't land your top targets.

Lorenzo Montipo
Hellas Verona

At 27, Montipo will retain his value but you'll have to pay £4.7m for the privilege of that. It's steep, but it's the price you have to pay if you want somebody for more than one season.

Jordi Masip
Valladolid

Rounding us off here is 34-year-old Masip. He still boasts 16 reflexes which is worth paying £2.8m.

Reasonable options

David Soria
Getafe

Real Madrid were looking at Soria during the summer and he'll be of interest to the big clubs on FM24 thanks to his £10m asking price. That's outstanding vaulue for a player of his quality.

Jeremias Ledesma
Cadiz

18 reflexes should tell you everything you need to know about Ledesma. He's incredibly agile and available for a cool £15m.

Matheus
BRG

Matheus is available for £14m and, at 30 years old, still has a good few years left as a top goalkeeper. That's towards the top of this price bracket but still represents a good deal.

Justin Bijlow
Feyenoord

Bijlow might not stand out at any specific attribute but he's solid at everything you could want from a goalkeeper. A no-frills-attached sort of player you can sign for £13.5m.

Pau Lopez
OM

Lopez and his 16 reflexes can be yours for £12.5m. He's Marseille's only goalkeeper though, so you might have to let them find a new stopper first.

90min recommends

Juan Musso
Atalanta

Atalanta are selling some top players for cheap prices and Musso is no exception. His £8m price tag is well below market value for someone with a whopping 18 reflexes. For that sort of money, you won't find anybody better.

Jonas Omlin
Borussia Monchengladbach

£8.5m is still a really nice price for Omlin, whose 16 reflexes and positioning will make him a really nice shot stopper.

Walter Benitez
PSV

You'll have to pay a little over the odds to land Benitez, but his £11m asking price is still fantastic value. If you don't get the chance to snap up one of the other bargains, you should throw your money his way.

Koen Casteels
Wolfsburg

Casteels will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2024 but it'll cost you £6.5m if you want him straight away.

Mattia Perin
Juventus

Still only 30 years old, Perin has plenty of top years left in him. His £10m valuation is a little bit of big-club pricing but it's not exactly bad either.

Expensive options

Alex Meret
Parthenope

A long-time favourite of FM players, Meret remains an excellent signing at £32m. He's on an expiring contract as well, so you could try your luck and hold on for a free transfer, but don't get your hopes up on that one.

Diogo Costa
Porto

If you've got the money to splash out, £41.5m for Costa is mental. He's only 23, already one of the best goalkeepers in the world and destined to become an absolute superstar.

Manuel Neuer
FC Bayern

Neuer is already that superstar at the end of his career. He's absolutely elite and available for a cool £11m, but you obviously won't have the 37-year-old for long.

Keylor Navas
Paris SG

Navas, 36, is desperate to find some regular minutes again and you can land his signature for just £2m if you've got some monster wages to offer him.

Lucas Perri
BOT

You'll have to pay £20m to lure Perri away, but his tiny wages should help make that money back pretty quickly.

90min recommends

Ivan Provedel
Lazio

16 kicking, 16 reflexes and 15 handling should help convince you to make a move for Provedel, who is yours for as little as £23.5m. That's an excellent price for a goalkeeper of this calibre.

Jordan Pickford
Everton

Signing an English player from a Premier League team is rarely cheap and Pickford's £49.5m price tag is evidence of that. But with 17 one-on-ones and 16 reflexes, it's hardly an outrageous price.

Giorgi Mamardashvili
Valencia

£65m makes Mamardashvili the most expensive goalkeeper on this list, but he's only 22 and destined to become an absolute superstar in the position.

Alex Remiro
Real San Sebastian

Clubs are already sniffing around £34.5m-rated Remiro at the start of the game, and it's not hard to see why. His 17 passing is unreal for a goalkeeper.

Emiliano Martinez
Aston Villa

World Cup winner Martinez can be signed for £49m, but he is statistically the best goalkeeper on this list. If you've got the extra money to spend, he's worth it.
