The UEFA Champions League is football's ultimate competition. Europe's best teams are thrown into a hat, and a mix of underdogs and heavyweights trade blows in an attempt to reach the final. While it often gifts fans the occasional fantasy dream match, it also provides spectacularly dramatic stories across Europe.

The beauty of the Champions League is its unpredictability. Anything truly can happen, and while it can be a tad predictable some seasons, there's always some bonkers football played in there. 90min has whittled down the 30 greatest matches the competition has witnessed.

After Barça ripped them apart two years earlier and denied them back-to-back Champions League wins, Manchester United had made a third final in four years and had the perfect opportunity for vengeance.

Pep Guardiola wasn't having that, and his side turned it up yet another gear to emerge victorious. Wayne Rooney's first half equaliser served as hope for United fans, but ultimately it just crushed dreams even further.

29. Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid (2013)

Before Real Madrid decided to hoover up Champions Leagues for fun in the 2010s, they were issued a schooling by an insanely good Borussia Dortmund side in the 2013 semi-final first leg.

The ultimate 'streets won't forget' XI complete with the matching iconic kit, Robert Lewandowski bagged a silly four goals to send Real home with their tails between their legs. See yer.
