Benevento 1-1 Juventus: Player Ratings as Bianconeri Held to a Draw

Juventus slipped up at newly-promoted Benevento on Saturday afternoon, as the newly-promoted side held Andrea Pirlo's side to a 1-1 draw.

Alvaro Morata gave Juventus the lead on the 20-minute mark, taking on his marker and rattling a super left-footed effort into the bottom far corner. I Bianconeri looked fairly untroubled by their hosts, until a Gaetano Letizia volley snaked into the corner of the net on the stroke of half-time.

Juve looked to regain their lead in the second half, with Morata going close from distance and Paulo Dybala trying his luck on a number of occasions. Both sides had chances as the half progressed, but neither could find that breakthrough, and Pirlo was forced to settle for a disappointing point.

JUVENTUS

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) - 7/10 - Pulled off a stunning save late in the first half, only for Benevento to score from the resulting corner. Little chance with a shot that sneaked in at the back stick. Showed some real minerals to pull off a double dummy in the second half.

Juan Cuadrado (RB) - 5/10 - Forced into making a lot of recovery tackles, and caught upfield on occasion. Gave the ball away a lot in the second half. So many simple passes misplaced. Lucky to only receive a yellow for a hefty shove.

Danilo (CB) - 6/10 - Mr. Dependable. Seems fully adapted to the centre-back life, defending his zone well and building attacks from the back.

Matthijs de Ligt (CB) - 8/10 - The monster is back, baby. Injury hasn't slowed De Ligt down, and he is as powerful and commanding as ever. Won plenty of tackles and stayed strong as his opponents came forward, including a huge second-half block.

Gianluca Frabotta (LB) - 6/10 - Looks a reliable defender, without really sparkling or standing out from the crowd. Got beaten by his man a couple of times in the second half as Benevento began to grow into the game.

2. Midfielders

Federico Chiesa (RM) - 7/10 - Picked out Morata with a pinpoint ball from the right flank. Beautiful stuff. Looked much more comfortable out wide than central.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) - 7/10 - Executed an insane bit of control with his head in the first half, which almost resulted in a goal. A dominant figure in the middle, winning possession and launching Juve forward. Influence on proceedings waned as the game progressed.

Arthur (CM) - 6/10 - Pulled the strings in the middle, switching play from side to side and always providing an option for his teammates. Presented the ball back to Benevento with a stray touch for their equaliser. Subbed.

Aaron Ramsey (LM) - 6/10 - Playing out of position on that left side, and couldn't occupy his usual spaces. Should have buried a first-half chance, but fired straight at the keeper. Subbed.

3. Forwards

Alvaro Morata (ST) - 7/10 - This man just loves Turin, doesn't he? Morata looks a new player back at Juve, and his clinical strike which kicked off the scoring proved it. Five star weak foot. Couldn't add to his tally, though. Sent off after the final whistle.

Paulo Dybala (ST) - 6/10 - Looked sharper. Should have rounded off a wonderful move he instigated brilliantly, but fired just wide. Constantly swarmed and surrounded when in possession. Shooting radar was well off.
