Bayern Munich return to domestic action on Saturday afternoon as they host VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga.

Julian Nagelsmann's side head into the game in high spirits, having seen off Barcelona with a dominant 3-0 victory in their Champions League opener. Prior to that result, the Bavarian giants had thrashed Bundesliga challengers RB Leipzig 4-1 to make it ten points from their first four league fixtures - yeah, they're in form.

On matchday five, Die Roten take on VfL Bochum who, following their promotion form the second tier last season, have found life in the Bundesliga to be challenging. They have thus far lost three and won one, currently placing them 13th in the table.

Here's 90min's preview of this one.

Bayern Munich team news

Nagelsmann will once again be without France international Corentin Tolisso, although he should be able to call upon Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry - who both returned from injury to feature in midweek.

Their inclusion is by no means certain, however, given the early-season form of both Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane - not a bad headache for Nagelsmann to have.

VfL Bochum team news

The visitors are likely to be without Cristian Gamboa, due to an elbow problem, and former Arsenal man Takuma Asano because of a groin injury.

Centre-back Maxim Leitsch is also doubtful to feature, meaning Armel Bella-Kotchap should retain his place in the starting XI.

Bayern Munich vs VfL Bochum prediction

There isn't all that much to be said about Bochum's chances here, apart from the fact that may be able to keep it somewhat respectable - although don't bet on it.

Thomas Reis' men have done well to only concede six in their opening four fixtures, although their tally of four goals scored shouldn't represent too much of an issue for Bayern at the other end. Defence will be key for the visitors; with the creativity, precision and ruthlessness on show for the hosts, Bochum will have to hold firm as long as possible to get anything from this game.

However, with the likes of Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich, Musiala, Sane as well as a whole host of others supplying Robert Lewandowski - who has found the net in all of Bayern's competitive fixtures over the past seven months - it shouldn't be too difficult for Die Roten to find a way through.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 5-0 VfL Bochum
