Bayern Munich will have the opportunity to qualify for their seventh DFB-Pokal final in nine years when they face Eintracht Frankfurt in the semi final on Wednesday.

Bayern are the all time leading winners of the competition and can make it two triumphs in a row with victory this year, but they'll have to get through Die Adler first. Frankfurt have won the trophy five times themselves and beat Bayern in the final 3-1 two years ago.

With Frankfurt currently 11th in the Bundesliga, the Eagles' only chance of qualifying for Europe is through DFB-Pokal success, but - with one hand firmly on the Bundesliga trophy already - Bayern will be 100% focused on the semi-final clash.

Team News

With Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller suspended for Bayern's next Bundesliga game, the two are expected to feature in Wednesday's semi final. The only player unavailable for the Bundesliga leaders is midfielder Corentin Tolisso, who's out with an ankle injury.

Frankfurt will be missing key man Filip Kostic through suspension after the Serbian was dismissed during the quarter final against Werder Bremen. They'll also be missing Gelson Fernandes and Gonçalo Paciência, with both out injured.

Predicted Lineups

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Pavard, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Kimmich, Goretzka; Coman, Muller, Gnabry; Lewandowski.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Trapp; Toure, Hinteregger, Abraham, N'Dicka; Ilsanker, Sow; Chandler, Kamada, Gacinovic; Silva.

Head to Head Record

Bayern have had the better of Frankfurt since the latter returned to the Bundesliga in 2016, with the current Bundesliga leaders winning eight of the last 11 meetings between the two sides.

However, Frankfurt did manage to beat Bayern 5-1 earlier this season and also beat them 3-1 in the DFB-Pokal final in 2018. The most recent meeting between the two was the second game back following the Bundesliga's two month break, with Bayern thrashing Frankfurt 5-2.

Recent Form

Unbeaten in all competitions in 2020, Bayern have been in scintillating form this year. The Bundesliga leaders have won 15 of their last 16 league games and have all but secured another league title.

Frankfurt had also found themselves in a spell of good form, embarking on a three match unbeaten run before Mainz handed them a 2-0 loss at the weekend.

Prediction

While Frankfurt have enjoyed an upturn in form recently, the might of Bayern should be too much for them. Bayern haven't lost a single game in all competitions since the turn of the new year and will likely carry on that run past Wednesday's showdown.

With Lewandowski in lightning form right now and Frankfurt missing key man Kostic, Bayern should have more than enough to see off the Eagles' threat on their way to another DFB-Pokal final.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 3-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
