The DFL-Supercup brings an early instalment of Der Klassiker this season, as DFB-Pokal winners Borussia Dortmund face Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night.

BVB will head into the tie in high spirits, having got their league campaign off to an emphatic start at the weekend. Erling Haaland scored twice as Marco Rose's side ran out 5-2 winners against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Robert Lewandowski also got on the scoresheet in Bayern's opener, although his sole strike was only enough to earn the Bavarian giants a 1-1 draw at Borussia Monchengladbach. So, in a bid to get back into a winning groove, here's the lineup Julian Nagelsmann could set out on Tuesday.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Manuel Neuer

Manuel Neuer (GK) - Continues to demand the highest of standards from both himself and those around him, and will captain Bayern in a domestic Supercup for the fifth time.

Joshua Kimmich (RB) - Josip Stanisic fared well at right-bank against Gladbach in Benjamin Pavard's absence, although Nagelsmann could opt for the proven quality of Kimmich to face Dortmund.

Dayot Upamecano (CB) - Didn't have the easiest of debuts last time out, but he has the gaffer's trust and will no doubt play a huge part in the Bundesliga champions' season.

Niklas Sule (CB) - The mountainous Sule should see a lot more action in Bayern's back line with the departures of Jerome Boateng and David Alaba this summer, and will likely partner Upamecano once more.

Alphonso Davies (LB) - One of the best attacking full-backs on the planet, his thrilling dynamism and energy has become a hallmark of this Bayern side.

2. Midfielders

Leon Goretzka (CM) - Although at his best when he plays alongside Kimmich in midfield, he's still an integral figure for this machine-like team and should be the main man in the engine room against BVB.

Corentin Tolisso (CM) - Despite the news that the Frenchman could be available for just €10m this summer, he represents a solid option for Nagelsmann to call on and could start this one.

Thomas Muller (AM) -
One of the best at picking up pockets of space and executing that killer pass, Muller is vital for the side and looks out of place when not in the Bayern XI.

3. Forwards

Leroy Sane (RW) - Electric on his day, but really needs to start being more clinical in the final third to become the established world class winger he can be.

Robert Lewandowski (ST) -
There's no way Lewandowski doesn't start for Bayern. A record-breaking goal machine, he already has one this campaign and will look to add to his tally in midweek.

Serge Gnabry (LW) -
Capable of winning a match on his own on his day, but he'll need to be more consistent this season.
