There will be narratives galore in Bavaria on Saturday night when Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund square off in Der Klassiker.

Julian Nagelsmann was given the boot at the Allianz Arena over the international break and replaced with Thomas Tuchel, whose first game as Bayern boss comes against his former employers.

BVB lead Bayern by a point in the Bundesliga standings but the complexion of the title race could look a whole lot different come full time.

GK: Yann Sommer - Manuel Neuer - who has not been shy of criticising Bayern in recent weeks - is still sidelined after getting injured in a skiing accident. Sommer, one of the best Bundesliga stoppers in his own right, will continue to deputise.

CB: Benjamin Pavard - Made a scoring return to France's starting XI during the international break and should fit snugly in here at right centre back.

CB: Dayot Upamecano - Alongside Pavard will be compatriot Dayot Upamecano, who led the defence in big wins against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt - Admitted his surprise at Nagelsmann's departure but backed incoming boss Tuchel to succeed, calling him "a coach who suits us".

RWB: Joao Cancelo - Should finally get an opportunity to spread his wings at right wing back, having struggled for game time first at Manchester City and then under Nagelsmann.

CM: Joshua Kimmich - Is the glue that holds Bayern together. His battle with Dortmund's Jude Bellingham could be decisive.

CM: Leon Goretzka - Tuchel could opt for the muscle and goal threat of Goretzka alongside Kimmich in midfield ahead of Jamal Musiala. Has assists in his last two Bayern games.

LWB: Alphonso Davies - Has been in wonderful form of late and, with all the pace in the world, should enjoy playing out wide for Tuchel.

RF: Leroy Sane - Germany international Sane has the guile to play close to central striker Choupo-Moting but his main threat will be his acceleration on the counter attack.

LF: Thomas Muller - Muller will stay in central areas for most of the contest. Has scored 12 goals against Dortmund in his career so far.

ST: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting - Is a slight injury concern following the international break but should be fit as he looks to add to his ten Bundesliga goals so far.
